Educational Rating*

All of our events that we present to you in 2022 have been carefully selected so that they can bring to you an exceptional educational experience that can immediately be put into practice for the day-to-day operation of your business and for use of your staff. Many of our training events even provide educational credits or are legally required/mandatory training [AB- Assembly Bill / SB – Senate Bill].

Key to the Educational Rating of events:

Compliance Training

Compliance trainings are legally mandatory for certain occupations and employment positions.

AB 1825, [Assembly Bill ](California Government Code 12950.1) – this law was first enacted effective January 2005.

This law mandates that employers who do business in California and employ 50 or more employees provide two hours of sexual harassment prevention training to supervisors located in California at least once every two years.

Supervisors is anyone that has the authority to direct other employees may be enough to classify that person as a supervisor.

Under California law, the employer will be strictly liable for unlawful harassment of its supervisors, even if the harassment was unknown by the employer. (This is different than federal law.)

The supervisors have to stay for two full hours, whether is in person training or remote training. If you leave 15 minutes early, you are not sufficiently trained.

New supervisors have to receive training within 6 months, unless they received their AB1825 training at their prior job. The burden is on the new employer to show that the prior training was sufficient.

California’s sexual harassment training requirements are enforced by the DFEH under the FEHA. This webinar meets the amended requirements of California Government Code Section 12950.1. This new regulation incorporates Assembly Bills 1825, 1661 and 2053, Senate Bills 396, 1300, 1343, and 778.

Webinars that display the Compliance logo enable you to certify for compliance with this mandatory training requirement.

Professional Training Credits for Human Resources Staff

There are two leading associations that engage in training of staff and professionals working in Human resources management and offer learning systems that evidence the learning progress with credits.

The Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) and the HR Certification Institute (HRCI).

Both certifications, signify that individuals possess the theoretical knowledge and practical experience in human resource management necessary to pass an examination demonstrating a mastery of the body of knowledge in the field. Earning your HR certification makes you a recognized expert and leader in the field of HR.

Recertification: To maintain HRCI certification, or maintain SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP,

you are required to earn 60 professional development credits (PDCs) every three years, or re-sit the exam.

For more and specific information please see the websites of HRCI and of SHRM.

Our HRCI/SHRM webinars are currently subject to the credit approval process – approved webinars display a green check mark beside the HRCI/SHRM logos.

Webinars that display the HRCI/SHRM logo can earn you professional credits (PDCs) and can provide you with a certificate denoting these credits.

Recommended Training and Education

We offer educational events that provide participants with a specialized knowledge in selected areas of business and office operations. These training opportunities can open up for participants new office assignments or even an introduction to a new career path.

If you want to develop an additional expertise for your office or want to embark on a specialization training these events marked RECOMMENDED are your best starting point for more.

We are working to include further events that address and earn professional credits also in other occupational and professional areas. Please contact us if you would like to suggest educational or credit-earning topics to be added to our events program – EACalameda@edd.ca.gov.
